J. Robert Black of Black Law, PC has filed a wrongful death lawsuit on behalf of the family of a chemical worker who developed Non-Hodgkins’ Lymphoma (NHL). The Plaintiffs allege the decedent was exposed to benzene over a thirty year career as a pipefitter and operator. The lawsuit is currently pending in Galveston County, Texas. Agent Orange Still Killing

According to a recent study published in JAMAOncology , veterans of Operation Ranch Hand (the spraying of chemical defoliants by the US Air Force from 1962 to 1971 in Vietnam) have a doubled risk of developing monoclonal gammopathy (MGUS), a precursor to multiple myeloma. The study authors concluded the results support an association between Agent Orange exposure and multiple myeloma.

New Benzene Cancer Study

The British Journal of Cancer has published a new study on low level benzene exposures and offshore worker benzene cancers. The results support an association between the cumulative effects of low-level benzene exposure and the risk for acute myeloid leukemia (AML), multiple myeloma (MM). The results are suggestive for chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL). To review the abstract of the article, click here.
